Detailed Itinerary
On day 1, we welcome you at the Guwahati Airport, from where we take
a comfortable drive to Sualkuchi, the silk village, where a luxurious cruise
RV Charaidew awaits your arrival. Once you embark the vessel, you are
welcomed to the comfy coaches and open air decks, where you can enjoy the
rich flavor of Assam Tea. After some rest and refreshments, we head towards
the silk town to appreciate the variety of silk available along with the
manufacturing, dying and weaving process.
On the second day , the ship maneuvers
through the Brahmaputra waters to reach Tarabari Ghat. From here, we drive
to the Manas National Park, a famous World Heritage Site, known for its
tiger count, that reaches 80, that cosily live in the green and serene
surroundings in the foothills of Himalayas. We will then take you for a
small boat ride on river Manas, to spot wildlife as we sail through. Among
the fauna that can be commonly sighted here are Wild Boars, Clouded
Leopards, Himalayan Bear, Hog Deer, Pigmy Hog,Golden Langur and Samber.
After the tough and adventurous forest trail, we take you for a delicious
meal in the Bansbari Lodge.
Day 3 starts with a refreshing cup of tea amidst the fresh morning
breeze and twittering of birds. The grandeur of the forest just attracts you
for another adventure trail, so we take you for an elephant ride to observe
the beauty of the sanctuary at close encounters. After a healthy breakfast,
we will drive back to our vessel that stands below the great bridge at
Jogighopa. From there we travel to the famous archaeological site of Sri
Surya Pathar, to gain insights about the stone and rock carvings on the
sacred Buddhist and Hindu temples.
On the fourth day, we take you for the smaller pleasures of the
area. You can enjoy a quiet morning on the ship, a bird-watching experience
and get a glimpse of the Gangetic Dolphins, if you are the lucky one. The
day also has something else in store for you. You will also get to get a
glimpse of the other side of India, as you tour around one of the villages
of the city to observe the culture and lifestyles of the locals.
On day 5, as you finish you breakfast, the vessel reaches the river
port of Dhubri, known for its cultural and heritage sites. Here you can
appreciate the shrines and archaeological sites scattered around the city
like the statue of Queen Victoria.
After the Dhubri visit, you disembark the vessel at mid-AM and the Assam
Bengal Navigation tour ends here.
Tourists information
The 5 day tour itinerary is subject to river conditions. The elephant and
boat rides are subject to availability.
The tour cost includes cost of cruise, tour guide, travel and meal
expenses. Any other expenses will be borne by the traveler himself.
