Detailed Itinerary
On the first day of the tour, as you reach Guwahati, our representative,
present on the airport, will transfer you to the preebooked hotel for an
overnight stay. In the early morning of the next day
(2nd day),
after breakfast, you would board your respective car/coach to visit the
famous Kamakhya Temple. During the festival of Ambubashi the temple draws
thousand of pilgrims every year. After paying homage to the Goddess
Kamakhya, drive on to the Cherrapunji (170 km). Enroute visit Borapani Umiam
Lake where you can try out number of adventure sports such as boating,
sailing, cruising and fishing. If you are looking for more fun you can hire
row- boats, paddle boats, sail- boats, cruise boats, speed boats and water
scooters also. It is also the ideal place for picnic. Overnight stay in
Cherrapunji
Next day
(3rd day), you will be involved exploring the Krem Mawmluh
Cave, located half a kilometer west of Cherrapunji adjacent to the small
hemlet of Mawmluh. This cave interestingly has five river passage with
impressive propositions. With the length of 4503 m it is currently the forth
longest in the Indian sub- continent. Discover the breathtaking stalactites
hanging from the ceiling inside the cave. Also visit Nohsngithiang falls,
Noh Kalikai falls and Kshaid Dain Thlen falls in Cherrapunji. Overnight at
Cherrapunji resort. After taking breakfast on the
4th day walk to
the double decker living root bridge, an engineering marvel of Indigenous
Khasi Tribesmen, who weaved the routes of the ereca tree to make bridges
across streams. Return to Chera Tourist Resort after a leisurely lunch at
the bridge. If you want you can extend your trip by involving yourself in
trekking, rock climbing, canoeing, rafting and angling around the Khasi
hills in the evening. Overnight stay at Cherrapunji resort.
On the
5th day you will drive towards the Shillong in the morning
hours. After rest, take the leisure walk along the Elephant falls and
Shillong Peak. While in Shillong you can also indulge in trekking and cave
exploration. Overnight at Shillong. You are scheduled to spend one more day
in Shillong, which is the 6th day of the of our Caving and Trekking tour.
Visit Ward's lake, Lady Hydari, Sweet fall, Beadon fall, St. Mary Christian
Cathedral and many other attractions of Shillong. Overnight in Shillong. On
the 7th day drive back to Guwahati to take your onward flight.
