Detailed Itinerary
You are welcomed to the land of blue hills on
day 1, at the
Dibrugarh Airport or Jorhat Airport. We will then drive down to Neemati
Ghat, where the cruise awaits to welcome you aboard. The evening goes by
with an introduction with the crew members and a welcome dinner, while you
enjoy the cultural shows.
On the
second day, we drive down to
Sivasagar, a small town known for its scenic surroundings and historical
significance. The town served as the capital of Ahom rulers for six
centuries and is known as the cultural city of Assam. We visit the historic
relics of the Shiva Dole, and the Talatal ghar, ranghar, Borpukhuri,
Gaurisagar Tank and Kareng ghar. Post-lunch we move back to the vessel to
cruise down to Kamalabari, the commercial ghat of Majuli, where we hold on
for an overnight stay.
On
day 3, after an early breakfast, we embark towards Majuli, the
largest fresh water island and the propagator of Vaishnavite culture in the
state. You will get to visit the famous vaishnawa sattras dotting the city
and appreciate the varied flora and fauna of the only hill station of Assam.
Early morning on
day 4, you can watch the amazing honey combed
sun-rise view from the Sun Deck. One can't think of a better way to kick
start a day. After a healthy and delicious buffet breakfast, we visit the
Auniati Sattra for an enlightening experience of interacting with the Monks.
After maneuvering through the green valleys, the ship reaches a quiet island
near Dhansiri, where you royally enjoy a soulful barbecue dinner.
On the
fifth day, we take you for an ethnic experience in a typical
tribal village of Assam, where you can study the local culture and
lifestyles by interacting with the villagers or simply observing their
chores. After this learning experience, we return to the vessel to sail down
to Biswanath Ghat to visit Biswanath temple and Shiva Temple. The day ends
at Silghat, where we stop for an overnight stay.

On
day 6, we travel to Kaziranga National Park for an adventure Safari.
After a breakfast in the forest lodge, put on your track shoes and wear a
daring heart to maneuver through the dense forest, climb up the tall
elephants, track down the dangerous wild animals and experience the fast
beats when you hear a loud growl. After this exciting tour of the Kaziranga
National Park, we return to Silghat for a relaxing overnight stay.
On the
seventh day, we take you to a beautiful town called Tezpur,
which is abundant with archaeological charms dating back to the 6th
centuary. Da-Parbatia temple, Agnigarh, Bamuni Hill, Mahabhairab Temple and
the Cole Park are some of the sightseeings we will be visiting here.
On
day 8, we cruise via snow-peaked Himalayas, hill slopes and blue
river waters and visit tribal areas en-route, after which we take you for
the most exciting moment of the day that is a delectable barbecue dinner on
a peaceful island upstream Mayong and Pobitra.
On
day 9, you will tour around the Pobitra Wildlife Sanctuary to
enjoy elephant safaris and trekking, followed by a trip to Mayong, which is
known for the manuscripts and literature on Black Magic. A small interaction
with the King of Mayong is also scheduled within the trip, if he is in town.
On the
tenth day of the trip, you will reach Kuruva, which is close
to Guwahati. We will take you to the Aswaklanta temple on a hill top, majo
Pilgrimage site and Madan Kamdev Temple, known for their exquisite carvings
and historic relevance.
The
eleventh day starts with local sightseeings in the capital city
of Assam and shopping in the local markets. You will then be visiting
Sualkuchi, the silk city, where you can witness the silk manufacturing and
weaving process in the workshop. The evening is spent watching the
entertaining cultural shows and a farewell dinner with the crew.
On
day 12, you will be taken to the Guwahati Airport for departure.
Tourists information
The tour cost includes eleven day sightseeing, 12th day transport to the
Airport, cruise, travel expenses, accommodation, tour guide and meals. Any
extra expenses will be borne by the traveler himself.
