Detailed Itinerary
Meet and assist by our representative upon your arrival at Guwahati.
Then drive to the hotel, which is booked for you in advance. Overnight stay
in Guwahati. In the morning hours of the
2nd day we visit the famous
Kamakhya temple. Inside the inner sanctum is the image of the yoni of
Goddess Parvati, the mother of creation. After paying homage to the Goddess
Kamakhya, we will visit Assam State Museum and Nabagraha temple in the
afternoon. After lunch take the scenic drive to the Kaziranga. Check in your
jungle resort. Relax yourself with the hot cup of coffee and evening snacks.
Overnight in Lodge.
Early morning on the next day
(3rd day) you will set out to explore
the natural beauty and wilds of the jungle on the back of the elephant. Hire
the mahouts (trainer) who will guide you through through the park. You can
engage in Bird watching on the lake side. Make a visit to the Assamese
village to see silk worm rearing and venture to the Tea Gardens that Aassam
is famous for. Spot One Horned Rhinos while taking the thrilling jeep
safari. In the evening hours enjoy the film shows on wildlife that are
arranged at various tourists lodge in Kaziranga.Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
After exploring the Kaziranga National Park for two days, drive to Shillong
on the
4th day of the tour. Halt, than walk up to the Shillong Peak
to sooth your mind and body, along with that enjoy the magnificent view of
the city. Enjoy the water sports like sailing, boating and water skiing at
Umiam lake. Entertain yourself by taking a ride on the water scooter.
Shillong also provides the good opportunity for trekking and caving. Lunch
in form of picnic along the Umiam Lake. Visit the nearby villages and
interface with village elders. There after indulge in sightseeing around the
Elephant falls, Sweet falls and Spread Eagle falls. Overnight at your hotel
in Shillong.
Next morning after breakfast on the
5th day you will be driving to
Cherrapunji, which receives the highest rainfall in the world. Cherrapunji
provides you the ample opportunity for cave exploration in this area.
Witness the Orange Grooves, which are the main attraction of this region.
After taking lunch make a move towards the Nohkalikai Falls, situated 5 km
from Cherrapunji. Return to Shillong for the overnight stay. On the
6th
day of the tour get up early in the morning and make a visit to the Ward
Lake and Hydari Lake. Thereafter, visit the nearby village and enchant with
the people belonging to the Khasi tribe and know about their culture and
lifestyle. Enjoy cultural programs performed by the local villagers. In the
evening drive back to Guwahati. Overnight stay at your hotel in Guwahati.
7th day will be the last day when we will depart.
