Tripura Sundri Temple
Tripura Sundri temple or Mata Tripur Sundri (Maa Kali) temple is situated
at a distance of 3 km going towards south from Udaipur town. This temple is
regarded as one of the 51 Shaktipithas and was built by Maharaja Dhanya
Manikya in 1501 on a Hill rock. Thousands of devotees, pilgrims and tourist
visits here on the occasion of Diwali every year. The temple is known as
Matabari. It is also attended daily by thousands of devotees. In the back
side of the temple there is a big lake called Kalyan sagar.
Bhubaneshwari Temple
The Bhubeneshwari temple is very ancient holy place, visited by people from
all the sects. Near to this temple is the Gunabati group of temples - the
Durga temple, Mahadev temple and other several famous temples are located
here. The temple is open to thousands of devotees from all the walks of
life, who throng the place daily.
Sepahijala-the wildlife sanctuary
This wildlife sanctuary is about 25 km from
Agartala, covering an area of
about 18.53 sq km. It houses about 150 species of birds and the unique
spectacled monkey. Inside the sanctuary a forest dak Bunglow called
Abasarika offers accommodation. The sanctuary also houses botanical garden,
a zoo, lake and boating facilities are also available nearby.
